AI for clinical decision support systems gains momentum in APAC

The region is also pivoting towards GenAI adoption.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is being increasingly utilised in healthcare across the Asia Pacific (APAC), with a particular focus on clinical decision support systems, said Royal Philips.

The survey revealed that the sector’s leaders have begun implementing AI in several key domains, including preventive care (91%), medical management (90%), in-hospital patient monitoring (89%), treatment planning (89%), and remote patient monitoring (87%).

In addition, there has been notable uptake in the areas of clinical command centres (83%), radiology (79%), and pathology (79%).

Meanwhile, the region is witnessing a growing trend towards generative AI (GenAI), with 36% of healthcare leaders already investing in the technology and an additional 62% planning to do so within the next three years.

Furthermore, there is a consistent interest in GenAI in Indonesia (74%), Singapore (64%), and Australia (49%).
