Study forecasts significant growth in Asia’s homecare market

However, it faces challenges in wider adoption such as lack of awareness.

Using remote patient monitoring tools is expected to record significant growth due to increasing healthcare adoption, Fact.MR study showed.

Some of these tools are wearable devices and other monitoring devices and is seen to experience significant growth such as in Southeast Asia and other APAC economies.

But the study also pointed out that patient resistance may hinder from the adoption as patients may not be interested in using the gadgets.

Lack of familiarity and comfort amongst the elderly may also defer the technology adoption. There are concerns on privacy and security which will hinder online check-ups.

Manufacturers of these devices are encouraged to create awareness and how they work to increase adoption of e-health products.
