This ensures that the Amina Hospital clinicians bring not only clinical excellence but with experience comes genuine empathy and cultural understanding.

The Amina Hospital in Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been promoting breast cancer awareness for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017. Its "Early Detection is the Best Protection" and "Feel the Bumps — Look for Lumps" initiatives have turned Ajman pink. Because of these breast cancer initiatives, Amina Hospital has been recognized with the Healthcare Asia Awards 2018 for Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year.

The "Early Detection is the Best Protection" campaign together with the "Sign and Support initiative" was officially launched with the release of hundreds of pink balloons in October 1, 2016. The month-long programme offered free clinical breast examinations, mammograms, and specialist consultations. It aimed to spread awareness for the early detection of breast cancer while screening as many people as possible during this period. In addition, the Amina Hospital also initiated the month-long “Feel the Bumps - Look for Lumps’ campaign" in order to reach out to the masses. The campaign sought to raise public awareness of the symptoms of breast cancer, knowing what to look for, how to detect it, its treatment, and the need for a reliable, permanent cure in the not too distant future. As a symbolic representation of the campaign, all road humps and pedestrian crossings were also painted pink along Corniche Road.

Aside from these two initiatives, the Amina Hospital also organised walkathons during these consecutive years. The walkathons began from Al Rashidiya Park and finished at the Um Al Moumineen Women’s Association. There, the hospital also held breast cancer awareness lectures and self-check screenings provided by specialist doctors. Amina Hospital's breast self-examination tutorials were released during this event. Despite making progress, the Amina Hospital knows it still has a long way to to raise awareness on the importance of self-examination. In this regard, the hospital believes breast cancer is not a disease that should kill women anymore through self-checks and early detection.
