Indonesia’s Danamon to appoint Daisuke Ejima as president director
This plan will be submitted after obtaining approval from the Company's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPST) on 31 March.
With the tenure of Yasushi Itagaki and Kenichi Yamato as president director and president commissioner of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk coming to an end, the company will propose at the RUPST to appoint Daisuke Ejima as the company's president director and Yasushi Itagaki as the company's president commissioner.
Daisuke Ejima currently serves as regional executive for MUFG Bank Asia Pacific responsible for MUFG's business in 18 countries in the Asia Pacific region and is based in Singapore. Previously, he served as country head of Indonesia for MUFG Jakarta Branch from 2018 to 2022.
Prior to moving to Indonesia, he was deputy general manager of the Corporate Banking Division Asia & Oceania since March 2015. Whilst based in Singapore, he was responsible for promoting the corporate banking business with global and regional customers in Southeast Asia and Oceania region.
Ejima held various roles in Japanese Global and Corporate Banking, such as in the Japanese Corporate Banking Group of Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi New York Branch in the early 2000s, the US Corporate Banking Group, MUFG Bank's Tokyo head office as the head of Global HR Office.
He started his banking career in 1991 with The Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd. He previously served as Manager of the Industrial Research Department in the Research Division at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. Ejima graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Tokyo and completed an MBA at the University of Michigan's Ross Business School, USA.
